New Delhi, August 29: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has begun his four-day trip to Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on Saturday. He will first visit Uzbekistan from August 29-30 for a bilateral visit before travelling to the Kyrgyz Republic for the 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit from August 31 to September 1.
At the invitation of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, PM Modi will undertake a State Visit to Tashkent. This will be his fourth visit to Uzbekistan. During the visit, he will hold delegation-level talks with President Mirziyoyev to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two leaders are expected to review cooperation in areas including trade and investment, defence, digital connectivity, energy, education and people-to-people ties, while setting the agenda for future cooperation. They will also exchange views on advancing the shared developmental visions of Viksit Bharat 2047 and Uzbekistan-2030.
From Tashkent, PM Modi will travel to Bishkek to attend the 26th SCO Summit, which marks the 25th anniversary of the organisation. India has been a full member of the SCO since 2017. He will also address the summit and highlight India’s priorities of Security, Connectivity and Opportunity. He will also hold bilateral meetings with SCO leaders and attend the opening ceremony of the 6th World Nomad Games.
