GST Collection Crosses ₹2 Lakh Crore In September

Gross GST revenue from domestic activities increased 10.1 per cent to around ₹1.38 lakh crore in September, while revenue from imports rose 26 per cent to ₹65,525 crore.

New Delhi, October 2: India’s gross GST collections crossed ₹2 lakh crore in September for the third consecutive month, rising 14.7 per cent year-on-year to over ₹2.03 lakh crore, according to data from the GST portal. The September collections relate to goods consumed and services availed in August. The latest figures come ahead of the GST Council meeting scheduled for October 7, where experts expect discussions around further process reforms.

Gross GST revenue from domestic activities increased 10.1 per cent to around ₹1.38 lakh crore in September, while revenue from imports rose 26 per cent to ₹65,525 crore. Refunds during the month stood at ₹27,001 crore, down 3 per cent compared with the same period last year. After adjusting for refunds, net GST collections rose 18.1 per cent to over ₹1.76 lakh crore.

The total gross GST revenue in September 2025 stood at over ₹1.77 lakh crore. In September this year, Central GST collections stood at ₹37,772 crore, while State GST collections were ₹45,363 crore. Integrated GST collections crossed ₹1.20 lakh crore.
