New Delhi, October 2: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Best Buy have announced an agreement to transition Best Buy’s Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India to TCS. Under the multi-year agreement, Best Buy India will transition to TCS while continuing its operations. The centre will gradually be transformed into an AI-native Capability Centre, combining Best Buy’s retail and enterprise expertise with TCS’ technology, engineering, AI and global delivery capabilities.
The companies said the partnership will focus on accelerating innovation, scaling AI-powered solutions and delivering greater business value. As part of the transition, TCS will bring Best Buy India employees into its global organisation. The move will retain their existing business and technology expertise while giving them access to TCS’ learning and innovation ecosystem, AI skills and global opportunities.
Teams will work on redesigning workflows and developing AI-powered experiences and solutions as the centre expands its capabilities under TCS’ Global Value & Innovation Centres framework. TCS President, Consumer Business Group, Krishnan Ramanujam, said the partnership would combine Best Buy’s knowledge of its customers and business with TCS’ retail, AI, engineering and global execution capabilities.
Best Buy Vice President of Technology Strategy and Transformation Ahrey Smith said the company wanted a partner that understood both its business context and the value of its India team, adding that TCS would help build on the team’s strengths and provide opportunities for employees to develop their careers.
