New Delhi, September 1: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) on Tuesday withdrew its call for a September 5 protest march after the Centre gave assurances on the withdrawal of FIRs registered in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak protests in Delhi in July.
In a post on X, the CJP announced that its planned march from India Gate to the Delhi Police headquarters had been called off following the Supreme Court’s decision to quash FIRs against students who participated in the protests. The group also said no fresh FIRs would be filed in connection with the same incidents.
The CJP further said a 90-day deadline had been set for providing compensation to the families of students who died by suicide following the NEET 2026 paper leak.

The group had announced the September 5 “peaceful march” on August 24, accusing the Centre of failing to honour assurances that had led it to end its 36-day agitation at Jantar Mantar on July 25. The CJP had planned to march from India Gate to the Delhi Police headquarters over the pending demands.
