New Delhi, September 6: The death toll in the Delhi building collapse has risen to five after another injured person succumbed at AIIMS on Sunday evening following the collapse of a multi-storey PG building in Satya Niketan.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed condolences to those who lost their loved ones in the incident and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured. “The collapse of a building at Satya Niketan, Delhi is distressing. Condolences to those who lost their loved ones. Praying for the speedy recovery of the injured. Authorities are working at the site and assisting those affected in the mishap,” the Prime Minister said.
Following an on-site review and a preliminary assessment, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta ordered a magisterial inquiry into the incident and directed that an FIR be registered against the building owner. The Chief Minister said those found responsible for the incident would be held fully accountable and dealt with under the strictest provisions of law.
