New Delhi, September 9: Apple has launched the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, its latest flagship smartphones, with a focus on cameras, performance, battery life and artificial intelligence. Both models are powered by the new A20 Pro chipset, run on iOS 27 and feature a redesigned Dynamic Island.
The iPhone 18 Pro is priced at Rs 1,64,900 in India, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,79,900. Both models will be available in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage options. They come in black, silver, glacier and a new burgundy finish. Pre-orders will open on September 12, with sales beginning September 18. India is among the markets included in the first wave of availability.
The camera system receives a major upgrade, with both models featuring a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture. This is the first time adjustable aperture control has been introduced on an iPhone. The system uses six laser-cut blades and offers four aperture settings, which can be adjusted automatically or manually.
Apple has also added Pro controls to the Camera app, allowing users to adjust aperture, shutter speed and white balance. A histogram is also available to help monitor exposure. Photographic Styles now include additional texture and grain controls, while videos recorded at up to 60fps can receive Cinematic effects after capture. Time-lapse videos can also be recorded in 4K Dolby Vision HDR.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max offers up to 45 hours of video playback, compared with up to 36 hours on the iPhone 18 Pro. The eSIM-only Pro Max can reportedly deliver around seven hours of video playback with five minutes of wired charging.
The iPhone 18 Pro can reach 50% charge in around 15 minutes through wired charging, while wireless charging can take it to 50% in 30 minutes.
