New Delhi, September 1: Delhi-NCR witnessed a wet Tuesday evening as grey skies gave way to steady rain across the national capital and neighbouring areas. In response, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued orange and yellow alerts for different parts of the region, urging residents to remain cautious.
Moderate rain is expected across southeast Delhi, east Delhi, Shahdara, central Delhi, northeast Delhi, south Delhi, New Delhi, west Delhi, northwest Delhi and north Delhi. These areas are likely to see waterlogging, particularly at low-lying stretches and under flyovers where drainage can struggle during heavy spells.
Light showers have also been forecast over parts of central Delhi, south Delhi, New Delhi, southwest Delhi, west Delhi, northwest Delhi and north Delhi. The showers are expected to cool the evening without causing major disruption. The weather system has also extended beyond the capital.
