New Delhi, August 27: Yash-starrer ‘Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups’ was released worldwide on Thursday. The film opened strongly at the box office, collecting ₹101.10 crore in net collections in India on Day 1, across 24,579 shows, as per Sacnilk.com.
The film has recorded ₹120.75 crore in total India gross collections, while its total India net collections stand at ₹101.10 crore so far. Overseas, Toxic has earned ₹16.25 crore in gross collections, taking its total worldwide gross collection to ₹137 crore.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP, respectively. The film stars Yash in dual roles as Raya and Ticket, alongside Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth.
The film was officially announced in 2023 and was mounted on a massive budget. Despite its strong opening at the box office, Toxic faced criticism after its release over its violence, sensual scenes and perceived lack of emotional depth.
