‘Terrorist Country Asking Me’: Jaishankar Hits Back At Pakistani Reporter At UNGA

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday hit back at a Pakistani reporter who asked, “When will your government stop sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan?” during a press briefing on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.

New Delhi, September 25: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Friday hit back at a Pakistani reporter who asked, “When will your government stop sponsoring terrorism in Pakistan?” during a press briefing on the sidelines of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session. “A terrorist country is asking me that question,” Jaishankar said in response to the reporter.

Jaishankar is currently in New York, leading the Indian delegation during the High-Level Week of the 81st UNGA session. The briefing had been announced as a remarks-only event. However, towards the end, the Pakistani reporter intervened and raised the question on terrorism, news agency ANI reported.

Jaishankar was speaking at a press conference with Sara Beysolow Nyanti, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Liberia. The briefing was held in connection with the Group of Friends on Safety and Security of Shipping and Seafarers.
