New Delhi, September 4: Two workers were rescued alive from the tunnel of Trishuli-3 ‘A’ Hydropower Project in Nepal, nine days after flash floods hit the country on August 26, trapping hundreds of workers inside. As per reports, the rescuers have also established communication with others who remain trapped in the tunnel.
Nepal Army Brigadier General Raja Ram Basnet said on Friday that the two men, who were trapped after a devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on 10 Bhadra, were rescued by a joint search team. He added that further search and rescue operations were underway.
The Nepal Army also shared the visuals of their in an X post stating, “Two individuals rescued alive from inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3A Hydropower Project.” The same can b seen here.
The two men were identified as Sanjay Shah and Kabir Maharjan. One of them is a mechanical foreman, while the other is a mechanical supervisor. Both men have been placed under medical observation.
