New Delhi, October 5: Flipkart has announced a minority stake investment in global B2B travel tech platform TravClan. The investment is aimed at strengthening international travel supply and expanding the range of holiday packages available to customers through Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel.
TravClan supports outbound leisure travel through direct supplier listings across domestic and international destinations. Its technology platform allows more than 15,000 travel agents to customise and book real-time packages, hotels and activities, along with 24/7 on-ground customer support.
By integrating TravClan’s partner network, technology and destination operations, Cleartrip and Flipkart Travel will be able to offer customers a wider selection of international holiday packages, backed by on-ground assistance.
Nishant Verman, SVP, Corporate Development and Partnerships at Flipkart, said the investment would strengthen the company’s international holiday offerings and travel capabilities. He said travellers are increasingly looking for curated holidays based on their interests, along with support throughout their journey.
TravClan Co-Founder and CEO Arun Bagaria said India is becoming one of the largest outbound travel markets, with first-time international travellers driving a significant part of the growth. He said the company aims to make international trips more affordable while maintaining reliable service through direct supplier contracts and its own ground teams.
The funding will be used to invest in global supply, technology and destination expansion as TravClan scales its platform and expands its teams across business development, engineering and destination operations.
