New Delhi, September 8: The Indian junior women’s hockey team continued their dominant run at the Asia Cup, securing a place in the quarterfinals with a commanding 7-0 win over Japan in their third Elite Pool match here on Tuesday. With nine points from three matches, India currently sit at the top of the Elite Pool.
India will face China in their final pool match on Wednesday, with the result set to determine the top position in the pool. China currently have six points from two matches.
India began their campaign with a 4-1 win over Korea before registering an 11-1 victory against Malaysia. They carried the same attacking momentum into their clash with Japan, taking control of the proceedings from the start.
