New Delhi, September 6: HyperVault, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has secured 264 acres of land to develop a large-scale artificial intelligence (AI) data centre campus with a capacity of up to 1GW in Hyderabad. The campus will be purpose-built to meet the requirements of frontier AI companies and hyperscalers, supporting high-density GPU deployments for AI training, inference and advanced computing workloads. The development will be carried out in phases, based on customer demand and technology requirements.
Once fully built, the campus is expected to rank among the largest and most advanced AI infrastructure campuses in India. It will also incorporate green energy and water-neutral design principles as part of the development. The project is expected to further strengthen Telangana’s position as a strategic hub for artificial intelligence and advanced digital infrastructure. Beyond the campus, it is expected to support India’s wider AI infrastructure ecosystem across power, cooling, networking, construction, engineering and operations.
The project is expected to generate several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region. HyperVault and its partners are expected to invest up to Rs 70,000 crore to build and manage the infrastructure.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, during a meeting with officials from TCS’ HyperVault, described the project as “historic” not just for Telangana but for India.
TCS CEO and MD K Krithivasan said the project advances the company’s “Infrastructure-to-Intelligence strategy” by bringing together AI-ready infrastructure with its cloud, engineering, enterprise transformation and AI capabilities. “Hyderabad offers the scale, talent and ecosystem to serve global customers. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Chief Minister and the Government of Telangana for their steadfast support and progressive, investment-friendly policies,” he said.
