New Delhi, August 25: National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on Tuesday co-chaired the 25th Meeting of Special Representatives on the India-China Boundary Question with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing. Wang Yi is a Member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and China’s Foreign Minister.
During the meeting, the two sides positively reviewed the ongoing momentum in bilateral relations, in line with the directions and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping. The discussions focused on ways to further expand bilateral cooperation, maintain stability and ensure peace and tranquility in the border areas. The two sides also discussed making progress on boundary delimitation while sustaining ongoing work on transboundary cooperation.
Earlier on Tuesday, Doval, who is also the Special Representative on the India-China Boundary Question, called on Chinese Vice President Han Zheng. Ahead of the 25th round of the SR talks, Doval and Han discussed ways to strengthen peace and tranquility in the border areas and further improve bilateral relations across economic, political and multilateral fora.
